With CUE Splitter you can split audio track files without burning to CDR or decode/re-encode any audio data! Moreover audio files are automatically named using a user-defined "file mask" string, it's tags are filled with information extracted from "CUE" file and, optionally, an M3U playlist file can be generated (option enabled by default).ĬUE Splitter is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) Usually these couple of files are generated by programs like EAC (Exact Audio Copy), CDRWin, BPM Studio, GoldWave or similar. Sometimes you can find a big compressed audio file (for example MP3, APE, FLAC, OGG, WAV, WMA, etc.) equipped with a small "CUE" text file that contain informations about tracks title, artist and length. No SBE errors on the split tracks when using Medieval CUE Splitter that way.CUE Splitter is a freeware tool that split a single big audio track, mostly an album or a compilation, into the relative individual audio tracks, using informations contained in the associated "CUE" file. Medieval CUE Splitter has worked perfectly for that. Then I split the album using that modified CUE file using CUETools. And use the CUE editor in Medieval CUE Splitter to manually edit the CUE to renumber the tracks so that each index mark became a new track. I use Medieval CUE Splitter to create a new CUE file that has those index marks included. I have a couple classical CDs that have index marks between tracks and a couple popular music CDs that have index marks between tracks. Medieval CUE Splitter is the only tool I've found that is able to split at index marks. I actually have used Medieval CUE Splitter for some of my albums.
If the problems are audible with some tracks the problem would likely be just an audible tick where the missing samples got chopped off.
The good news is that the problems potentially created by using Medieval CUE Splitter are likely not going to audible unless they're albums with gapless tracks. If the files processed with Medieval CUE Splitter do have FLAC fingerprint errors you can re-encode them using Foobar or dBpoweramp or similar tools. Because there is no way for TLH to recover the couple thousand missing samples. If the files have SBE errors there is no point in having Trader's Little Helper fix the SBE errors. Then for addition assurance you can use Trader's Little Helper to test the decoded files to make sure they decode OK and don't have a FLAC fingerprint error. And from that you can assume that the album would not match against AccurateRip or CTDB. If the album has SBE errors then it has very likely had a couple thousand samples chopped of the beginning or end. But doing that for hundreds of albums would be too much work and not really accomplish anything useful.Ī quicker check to see if any of the albums you split using Medieval CUE Splitter would be to use Trader's Little Helper and check for Sector Boundary Errors (SBE). Click to expand.You could try using the Foobar file integrity verifier or CUETools to check if those tools can manage to get one of your affected albums to verify against AccurateRip or the CueToolsDatabase (CTDB).
